Whew—feels good to be back on the well, maybe not airwaves, but you know what I mean… It’s been way too long. Frankly, nine years ago, my life went off the rails and took Real South Magazine with it. It’s a long story involving job and financial stuff, the terminal illnesses and deaths of some people closest to another staffer and me, and a catastrophic house fire. No kidding, we’ve been Through Some Stuff.
But now, I am so pleased to announce that with the help of some literary friends, we’re finally resurrecting this! In the time since Real South launched, there are several great new Southern magazines and sites. So, between that and some interested parties with more southwesterly ties, we’ve decided to expand Real South to cover not just the South but now also the great American Southwest.
The first issue is in layout right now and on track to launch in May, so stay tuned!! On the right is a little sneak peek at the cover.
The rest of this website will also see a big revamp in the coming weeks. It’s a big learning curve, so be patient and please keep checking back.
