Also in honor of Indigenous History Month, we received this poignant portrait from photographer Don Bullens:
“I took this photograph in Arizona in 1977 during a cross country trip in a 1965 Volvo. Her name was Many Children, and her granddaughter served as an interpreter when I asked if she would allow me to photograph her. I took a variety of shots both in color and black in white. This image was made using Kodak Plus-X film in a Mamiya C200 camera. Incidentally, I paid her ten silver dollars that I won in a Las Vegas casino.” –Don Bullens
